fireflies. sparks. moonlight.

The night started with Garmin failing me... or maybe the right address was never entered.
Greetings came from a friend who put hands over my eyes... "guess who?"

Owl City was playing.
Dinner was served.
Someone bit into a pearl?
A wonderful friend came by... from stay-cation.
Dreams were discussed...
We marveled at the sky.
A fire was built.
Friend's sweet sister baked brownies.
The leaf blower was required.

"You would not believe your eyes
If ten million fireflies
Lit up the world as I fell asleep."

traditions.

Christmas Eve is spent with my Dad's side of the family! It begins with the Christmas Eve service at church. Silent Night by candle light ends the service... Jesus the light of the world.
Dinner at Grandma's house with a delicious assortment of southern food has been a tradition as long as a can remember.
When I was a little girl Christmas Eve was hands down the best day of the entire year. It's a time to be with all my family and cousins. Presents, candy, games, and the anticipation of Christmas morning!
As we get older there is less excitement over gifts, but laughter and Christmas joy still fills the air!
Christmas morning hasn't changed much... we still sit around the living room with assigned seats, covered with gifts! This year we spent the entire day at the house! :) Glorious!

We played music:
We rode the bicycle built for two:
We stayed warm:
We jumped:
I heart Christmas and my family. Thank-you God for the gift of Your Son!

winter snow.

Could've come like a mighty storm
With all the strength of a hurricane
You could've come like a forest fire
With all the power of Heaven in Your flame

But You came like a winter snow.
Quiet and soft and slow
Falling from the sky in the night
To the earth below

You Could've swept in like a tidal wave
Or an ocean to ravish our hearts
You could have come through like a roaring flood
To wipe away the things we've scarred
But You came like a winter snow.

(last winter's big snow)

classy christmas

I rung in Christmas Eve with a friends in Duluth! We dressed up and each brought food... pot luck style! The night was not complete without a fire, smores, and a Christmas special.

sushi and birthdays

It was a cold Saturday night in early December. A good friend's birthday brought us together for sushi and surprises. There was a fair share of celebrity sightings, laughing, and dancing. The night would end all too soon... 4 deep in the warm front seat of a truck... only to get out and drive home in the cold. Thankful.

The birthday boy.

ballrooms and parking decks.

Waltz and swing in a ballroom to footwork and leg kicks in a parking deck to sweet moves under fake snow.... another perfect night in the Classic City.
