a tropical mission.

hearts were stirred.
passports were stamped.
suitcases were stuffed with toys & treats.
weight limits may or may not have been met.
planes navigated over ocean bodies.
new friends were made.
hammers came in handy.
words received plurals.
schools were visited.
coconuts were drilled.
beaches and cliffs were enjoyed.
dance parties included Owl City "This is my jam"- Bahamian children.
walls were painted.
ceilings were ripped out and put back up.
caves and waves thrilled.
hearts smiled.

Party in Hatchet Bay

[So we re-wrote lyrics to a song and performed in a talent show...]

I hopped off a bus at BMH...
With my hammer and my work gloves on...
Welcome to the land of coconuts... WOAH!
Am I gonna try one(s)?
Hopped off the bus here I am for the first time...
Look to my right and I see the Semonette sign...
This is all so crazy. Everyone's lookin' so friendly...
My tummies turnin' and I'm feelin' kinda homesick...
That's when Manex turns on the attitude...
And you know the work will get done...
And we know the work will get done...

So I put my hair up, my tennis shoes one you know it's gonna be a good day!
Paintin' the walls like yea...
Hammerin' the nails like yea..
It's a Party in Hatchet Bay!
IT's A PARTY IN HATCHET BAY!!

pure joy.

I was blessed to spend my last Spring Break with 11 sweet girls serving our Savior on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. We worked with other groups from North Carolina on construction with the Bahamas Methodist Habitat. Hard work and oh so much fun. We played and danced with Bahamian children, jumped off cliffs (into the Caribbean), were in two places at once, and got attacked by waves! All for the Glory :) [More pictures and stories to come]

"Rains in Asia"

Balumtine'th Day... (weekend)

took a drive... brought a friend along.
there was a beautiful sky and leftover snow.
enough talk of adventures to fill up the semester.
awesome friends and sweet family.
ended up: home sweet home.
